Want to join?
It's simple! Just turn come down to the squadron on a Monday or Friday night, see what you think and if you like it, sign up. It's as easy as that.
FAQs:
How much does it cost?
It's £2 per night for subs and you may want to bring a little extra as we have canteen during the break.
Will I need any equipment?
For your probationary period (about six weeks), you will just need to turn up in civvies (civilian clothing - tracksuit, trainers etc), but after that the squadron will provide you with most of your uniform. You may need to purchase some parade shoes and later on some boots, but we know where to get these quite cheaply.
What will I do when I am there?
Generally, that can depend on the time of year. During the summer months, we try to get outside and do activities as much as possible, but during the winter, we do more class work (things like theory of flight, projects etc).
Will I be able to do other things?
We try to encourage you to do as much as you can. During the year there may be camps, adventure training, climbing, shooting, Duke of Edinburgh events as well as parades, marches and fund raising.
What happens if I decide it's not for me?
We'll be sad to see you go but you can leave at any time. If you have received any kit, then you will be asked to return it.
